Customizing your Seating Chart
(FREE Canva templates!)

You might be wondering: "So how do I use the seating chart if it comes to me blank?". Our seating charts are customized by attaching cards printed with your guest names to the sign. The size of card you use is determined by how many tables you have at your event.

Keep reading for detailed instructions on how to choose, customize, and attach your seating cards and for a link to our free templates to match any Kind Sign package.

step 1 - pick your card size

We offer three sizes of templates - 4"x6", 5"x7", and 3"x4". The images below show which size you should use based on how many tables you have at your event, and if you have a rectangular or arch shaped seating chart.

5"x7" | Up to 9 Tables

4"x6" | 10-16 Tables

3"x4" | 17-25 Tables

5"x7" | Up to 9 Tables

4"x6" | 10-12 Tables

3"x4" | 13-25 Tables

step 2 - design your seating cards

We designed easy-to-use, customizable seating card templates for you to match every style of sign we offer. Pick the right template based on your style and size by clicking on the links below. You’ll need a free Canva account to use our templates.

step 3 - download and resize

Download your finished seating card charts as PNG or JPEG files. Unzip the file to access the images you downloaded.

Copy/paste or drag each image into Microsoft Word or a Google Doc.

Resize the image so it is the correct size (5×7″, 4×6″, 3×4″). We’ve got easy instructions for how to do that for each word processor below:

Microsoft Word
Drag the image file into your Word document. The image will automatically insert into the document in the same size as the template that you used.

Google Docs
1. Drag the image file into your Google Doc, or use “Insert” > “Image” > “Upload from Computer”.
2. Click to select the image then click “Image Options” from the top menu bar.
3. Click “Size and Rotation” to show the sizing menu.
4. Adjust the size in the “Width” and “Height” boxes. The image will automatically resize.

step 4 - Print, cut, and display

Print
You can print your seating cards at home or by using your local printing company. We recommend printing the cards on uncoated (i.e. not shiny or gloss!) heavyweight card stock paper.

Cut
To cut, follow the outlines using a paper cutter or with careful scissor-work.

Display - IMPORTANT INFO
Please follow the display instructions (included here, in your Client Care package, and attached to your order at pick up!) carefully, since additional charges will apply if there is damage to the paint or wood surface.

1. Lay the sign down flat (we recommend throwing a towel or blanket down first, to be safe). Lay out the seating cards without any adhesive so you can fix placement and spacing before you start attaching anything.
2. One by one, pick up and attach the seating cards with your adhesive.
3. Move the sign to an upright position and double check positioning and spacing before storing the sign back in its bag until your big day.

THUMBS UP ADHESIVES

THUMBS DOWN ADHESIVES
